  • Who: Chrisanthi Giotis, Social Enterprise Magazine
  • When: 2:00pm - 3:00pm
  • Where: Pharmacy

Description

An interactive hands on media-skills session where you compete in teams. But with no maniac project-manager scenarios a la The Apprentice.

You’ll go through a series of projects based on common problems people encounter when dealing with or approaching the media.

After the challenges, a debrief where you look at what went right, and what went wrong.

The session host, Chrisanthi Giotis, is a journalist at Social Enterprise Magazine and formerly a journalism tutor at the University of Technology, Sydney.

Objectives

An intensive task-based crash course on media relations – whether you’ve never pitched to a journalist before, or are looking to hone your skils.

You’ll come away with a better understanding of how the media works, how to write copy that grabs an editors’ attention, and the best way to get your message across in interview. Perhaps most interestingly there will be the opportunity to relate the skills being developed to real life problems you are currently encountering.

Any preperation?

No prep needed. Note, this session is the same as the earlier Media Skills Challenge.
