The NESTA Challenge - Pushing Through Solutions for Public Needs

  • Who: Siobhan Edwards of NESTA
  • When: 12:00pm - 1:30pm
  • Where: Board Room

Description

Challenge at NESTA aims to help tackle major social issues by prototyping more prevailing innovation systems. This means we undertake practical experiments in order to understand the nature of critical innovations, what helps them flourish and what undermines their impact. In the process we hope to cajole, persuade or pressure the organisations whose engagement is needed to see the best ideas thrive, to do more and do it better.

Through the example of our work in public services (with frontline workers through Innovations in Mental Health and social entrepreneurs through the Health Innovation Accelerator), we’d like to explore with you the most effective methods for accelerating solutions to the complex problems threatening societal well-being.

There is no blueprint for this activity, so come ready to reflect on your own experience of public services (good and bad), your vision for how things could change, and your ideas for a better future.

Objectives

The hope for this session? That collectively, we can be more purposeful about the alignment between social entrepreneurs and other change agents.

Any preperation?

Be ready to get involved in the debate and bring some ideas about this agenda.
